2015 Knight Innovation Awards

Astrophysicist, podcaster and science communicator Neil deGrasse Tyson will receive the Knight Foundation’s third annual Innovation Award on October 14 at CUNY Graduate School of Journalism — and announce his choice to receive Knight’s $25,000 “Give Forward” Award.

Dr. Tyson will discuss his career and the challenges of explaining science and scientific issues with CUNY’s Jeff Jarvis.

Before the awards ceremony, Gimlet Media’s Alex Blumberg, BuzzFeed’s Heben Nigatu, WNYC’s Manoush Zomorodi and Bowery Boys host Greg Young will discuss innovations in podcasting and its business models. There will be a reception honoring Dr. Tyson after the awards cermony.

No seats remain available to attend the event in person. However, the program will be streamed live beginning at about 4:15 pm on Wednesday, October 14,, and discussed at #KnightInnovationAwards. You may also put your name on the waitlist in case additional seats become available.
